Freya was the goddess of love, magic, fertility, and beauty, but she was a warrior, too. In this case she came to battle in a chariot drawn by cats, and wearing her falcon-feather cloak of flight. She had a necklace, Brisingamen, which made her look beautiful all over. She trained half of all slain warriors in her hall, Sessrumnir (the others went to the better-known Valhalla, the home of her husband Odin.
